How To Make Fairies In A Jar 

This is something everyone will love! Just imagine the look on your childs face when they see this.

FAIRIES IN A JAR DIRECTIONS:
1. Cut a glow stick and shake the contents into a jar.
2. Add diamond glitter
3. Seal the top
4. Shake hard

 

 

Although my youngest is 12 1/2 I'm still going to try this with her. 

I'll also bring it up to our family vacation with the cousins...I think they'll like it too.  I know Alyssa will want to show Hollyn especially since she likes fairies.  

Rob's Birthday

For Rob's birthday he wanted me to make him Rice & Beans...well his birthday fell on a Friday and the last thing I want to do on a Friday is cook...so we compromised and I cooked for him on Saturday instead.  Since Lina had her ACT test that morning I got up and started cooking right away because after the test she had to go back to school.  So I made some to give her and bring back for Jenna.



Since I was already in the groove of cooking I decided to make a treat for the girls as well...something very simple that I already had the ingredients for.  Pretzel Kiss Bites.

My friend Donna told me about these yummy treats.  They are so simple to make and a fun project to do with the kids...Needless to say the girls (and Rob) loved them!  :) 

And since his birthday fell on the weekend, he feels that it should be his birthday weekend!  Then another celebration on the 16th when we have the family gathering!

Pretzel Kiss Bites

• Bag of Pretzels
• Hershey Kisses
• M&M's

Heat the oven to 250 degrees, place pretzels on a cookie sheet and add the Hershey Kisses on top.  Bake for 3 minutes.  Take out of the oven and squish the M&M's on top of the Hershey Kiss while they are still soft.  Refrigerate for 15 minutes!  YUM! 

You can change it up for every holiday since M&M's come in just about every holiday color.  I plan on making these for our family gathering next weekend for the kids using the Easter holiday colored M&M's.  The cousins will love it!

 

Hersehy Kiss can be replaced by a Rollo for a caramel taste.  Experiment with different kinds of candies and let me know what you come up with.

365 - A Cup of ______

Java!  That's what I love.  I like mine a little strong.  Not flavored.  I've begun liking tea as well.  Tea I prefer flavored.  No milk, just a little sugar.  I'm not very picky.  I'll try almost anything.  Chai Latte's, Frappacino's, Macchiato's...Oh yeah!

Ahhhhhhh!

365 - Sunset

I was happy to see this on the list for this year.  Sunsets are one of my favorite things to shoot.  I like to sit there and watch the sun go down and take pictures of each part of the setting until it finally sinks below the skyline.

47! WHAT??

How did that happen?  Say it isn't so...Wow, 47!  Where has the time gone?
I don't feel 47.  Everyone says I don't look 47.  Oh well, it's only a number I guess.

My day started great!  Alyssa and Rob got up early and made me breakfast in bed...blueberry pancakes, blueberries, toast and orange juice.  It was yummy.

Earlier in the week, Alyssa started asking me what my favorite thing to have for breakfast was.  So I said blueberry pancakes, then realizing she may be up to something, gave her another choice of the Special K breakfast sandwiches we buy from BJ's (I figured it would be the easiest this for her to do).  Then I also threw in eggs, toast and coffee.  We didn't have blueberries or the breakfast sandwiches so I made sure I had gone and gotten them b/c I know she likes them as well.  Little did I know she was going to have Rob help her and she did make the blueberry pancakes.  What a treat!  And they were REALLY good!  Nice fluffy pancakes.

For dinner we went to Cheesecake Factory.  I'm addicted to the Avacado Eggrolls there!  And they also have these Lettuce wrapped taco's that are too die for.  And although when we do go to the Cheesecake Factory, we've never gotten dessert there...always just satisfied with the dinner, but with Alyssa going with us tonight, we definitely had dessert that night.

This is Adam's Peanut Butter Cheesecake.  You know how we are with peanut butter!  

As you can see Rob's fork is in the left corner of the frame and, well, you can see how Alyssa feels about him taking some of the cheesecake!  She wanted to serve him some because she thought he would take too much!  

Not a great picture, but I had to laugh...you can tell he's ready to dig in!  

This is what was left of the Godiva after we were too stuffed to eat anymore.  There was also some of the peanut butter one left over as well.  Of course we took them home!

My Sweet Girl - 15

My little girl turns 15 today!  I cannot believe it is so.  Growing up to be such a sweet, loving, honest, vibrant young lady.  It is happening all too fast.  My darling girl is away from home for the first time on her birthday.  It shouldn't be this way...aren't kids always suppose to be home for their birthdays?  What different paths we all take on this journey of our lives.  Would I ever think that my children would be off at boarding school, away from home.  Never...it was never a thought in my mind.  Then one day they end up at this Independent school and yes, the possibilities are much greater than they were when I was growing up.  We all wish the best for our kids and hope they pick the right paths to lead them on their way to adulthood, no matter how much guidance we give them, they still have to choose the path themselves, but this, I never would've guessed.  So here I sit, with a heavy (loving) heart that my baby is not home to celebrate her birthday with the one who has brought her into this world.  I know she's in a good place right now, getting a good education and doing what she likes to do...but I get to be selfish today, don't I, for wanting her by my side of all days?  I love you Jenna, we love you Jenna and are so proud of you!
